#23 - Wide Open Road

I wrote this tune yesterday, and I like it okay so far.  I've been walking and working out how I'd like to sing it, and looking for any natural bridges.  Walking with a tune in my head is one of the most productive types of song work I know.

I haven't decided on any bridges, though it clearly needs that or at least a good instrumental break after the second verse. Until then, I've recorded a rough draft for you to hear if you'd like.  To hear, click play on the player, below.

About the song -- what a time we're living in.  There's a lot less traffic on the road, and there is a lot of introspection, lack of effective leadership, and great need for many, big changes.  It's a wide, open road. Where we go from here is up to us.

Wide Open Road

I don’t care if you’re in the country
I don’t care if you’re on a city street
Here is the time
To break out of the lines
Take that wide, open road

Got no one to lead you out of trouble
Got no one to keep you from shame
Just put the key in
Start up the engine
Take that wide, open road
Take that wide, wide open road

Will you change yourself for the better
Will you change for the greater good
Cuz you got options
Don't try to stop them
It’s a wide, open road
It’s a wide, wide open road
